(03/04/2020) Facebook wanted to use spyware by NSO Group to better spy on its users
In a lawsuit between Facebook and NSO Group, the CEO of NSO claimed that they were approached by Facebook representatives who expressed interest in NSO Group's spyware tool Pegasus to track users of Facebook's Onavo Protect app.
NSO Group's CEO Shalev Hulio claims: "The Facebook representatives stated that Facebook was concerned that its method for gathering user data through Onavo Protect was less effective on Apple devices than on Android devices".
The request was turned down by the spyware company and the Onavo Protect had to be removed from the Apple App Store due to controversial information leaks.
